As a Strategy and Operations lead for Facebook Reality Lab’s Metaverse organization, you will directly support the Director of Strategy and Operations and help manage the business operations across multiple product groups, working closely with leadership to help them grow, scale, and run the business effectively. You will manage strategic initiatives ranging from headcount allocation and tracking, business operations, process improvement, objectives and key results, and employee engagement programs, enabling our team to execute and innovate at speed. You will work across the Metaverse organization, which consists of Avatars, Horizon, Content, and Technical Art. You must have a keen focus on driving business results, the ability to work in 0-to-1 environments, and a strong willingness to collaborate and optimize overall business objectives. You must thrive in and enjoy a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, start-up environment, love problem solving, and working on high profile projects.You will be an accelerant to complex cross-PG and cross-family projects – that need a driver who can bring together the right stakeholders, develop frameworks, align on tradeoffs, and move to next steps with minimal support from leads. A successful Strategy and Operations lead will be organized, strong in project management, able to shift seamlessly between strategic counsel and smaller daily tasks and have excellent communications. This person should be a team-player and eager to work in a fast-paced, high-expectations environment. They should have a sharp eye for detail and enjoy working on complex projects that require a strategic thinker who can ground them in a clear framework and get them back on track.
Strategy & Operations Lead, Metaverse Responsibilities
- Drive cross-functional organization-wide initiatives such as headcount allocation and tracking, budget planning, goal setting, and organizational transformation projects
- Partner with team leads to define and track objectives and key results
- Lead projects to create business value, aligning multiple stakeholders
- Prepare dashboards and reports for stakeholder and team members to drive transparency and track improvement
- Evaluate deviations and causes of deviations from plan
- Track progress against goals and priorities
- Develop streamlined processes and mechanisms to improve operational efficiency and communication
- Manage and facilitate product reviews (i.e. weekly product reviews, MPU reviews, functional reviews, and other key meetings)
- Communicate to keep the Metaverse team informed of the strategies
- Build documents and presentations as needed
- Ensure progress on priority work-streams, help build decision-making frameworks, deliverables
- Leverage cross-functional relationships to drive company-wide touch-points and leadership processes
Minimum Qualifications
- 8+ years experience with project management, strategy, management consulting, research, or operations
- Experience with Microsoft and Google Suites, advanced skills in Excel
- Experience managing multiple projects and coordinate with internal staff and external consultants, vendors, and other stakeholders
- Experience working with cross-functional teams
- Experience with building presentations in Keynote and/or PowerPoint and compiling briefing materials
- Experience managing multiple tasks under timelines and shifting priorities
- Project management and communications (long and short-form) experience
Preferred Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in business, finance, or engineering
- Consumer products experience in an engineering, financial, project management, or operational capacity
- Experience working with confidential information while maintaining discretion and secrecy
