Data Scientist, Product Analytics – Developer Platform Infrastructure

Our Developer Platform team is focused on creating and maintaining a strong ecosystem of third-party developers and third-party experiences to power the metaverse, humanity’s next computing platform. Having an open and interoperable metaverse is key to delivering novel user experiences and to the health of this company critical project. Beyond the metaverse, Developer Platform also enables a diverse set of third-party applications including business applications, games, AR/VR products, messenger bots, and more. We’re hiring a Data Scientist to help us design and build the next generation of architecture for our Developer Platform and its infrastructure. Data Scientist, Product Analytics – Developer Platform Infrastructure Responsibilities

• Using data to understand the complex ecosystem of developers, applications, and their interactions with our users and user content

• Solving ambiguous infrastructure problems with data around user privacy, security of user data, system introspection, and access control, at the scale of billions of users with demands for real time performance

• Working with software engineers, data engineers, product managers and technical product managers to design and deploy the next generation architecture for our developer platform

• Developing scalable processes to demonstrate compliance with regulatory and audit requirements

• Building metrics to measure the performance, health, quality, and overall success of the platform

• Holding product teams accountable for progress against OKRs through deep dives into root causes of status and proactive communication to stakeholder groups

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelors/Masters Degree with 4+ years (or PhD with 2+ years) of experience working within an analytical role

• Experience translating business problems into analytical strategy and solutions

• Experience driving team direction with data

• Experience working independently and as a member of a cross-functional team including other data scientists, software engineers, data engineers, product managers, and technical product manager

• Experience in querying and manipulating large datasets for analysis using languages like SQL, Python, or R

• Experience influencing senior technical and non-technical leadership using data driven communications

Preferred Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience working in an analytics organization

• Experience designing and deploying infrastructure that solves ambiguous problems at massive scale

• Experience analyzing platforms, API products, or multi-party ecosystems using logging data

• Experience in designing infrastructure systems in the context of regulatory and audit compliance

• Experience in measuring infrastructure quality and health across hundreds of millions to billions of users

• Experience technically, leading the way in identifying and developing solutions needed to address highly complex problems
